MOVIE REVIEWS

It is a film with a strong philosophical subtext, deeply exploring the nature of humanity. A film for thoughtful people. A fine synthesis of beautiful images and music illustrating monologues in which questions without obvious answers are asked. It is a subtle picture of transience and therefore presents the role of time in a human life, seen from the angle of various different options, and ever-honest women’s confessions.

As it turned out, after the public premiere of the film, members of the audience identified themselves with Women Collection’s heroines in an unpredictable way, which was visible both among gender as well as age groups, as the discussion about the film proved. This not-so-obvious film is a tribute to the best achievements of Polish feminine cinema (but is certainly not a “women only” production). Here, a comparison with the works of Barbara Sass-Zdort is fully justified and is the value added of "Women Collection".

Marzena Więcek’s feature debut. The film meets all the requirements of a well-executed work of cinema. Direction, photography, camerawork and the leading roles constitute harmonious elements of a finely tailored whole. The director skillfully combines a documentary style with the narration and a painter’s impression. Evocativeness of a documentary context invites the viewer to the inner world of film’s heroines, giving the impression of merging of the personal and fictitious realms. Outstanding cast allows viewers’ insight into their own personal, often dramatic and tragic experience.

What strikes the most here, is a great acting! Opportunity to familiarize with a story like this, is a great pleasure for the viewer! Each character performs their own monodrama, that gives a great taste of almost documentary realism.

( ... ) Intermingling female monologues and images give the story its rhythm and order, leading us to a surprising conclusion . The finale is a compliment to the art cinema. Something for the everyman. And I couldn’t help myself to believe that film crew had a great time preparing a surprise for us. So did the viewers when they eventually realized it . Humor is one of the aspects of the "Women Collection ." For me, the great value was that I could experience a film that is far from trivial, and wise as well as controversial to some extent. A film in which more questions are asked than answers given.

All roles were performed admirably. The director deserves utmost respect and appreciation for working with actors and guiding them. My colleagues showed acting prowess that can be hardly seen in a Polish film. Congratulations!

“Women collection” is not an easy film to digest - interweaving monologues require focus, and themes that are brought up, arouse a great empathy and the will to resist in a viewer. This is not a popcorn movie, but the one that gives you an opportunity to take delight in actors’ performances that comprise the fabric of an extraordinary “Kolekcja sukienek”, woven to meet 21st century cinema expectations.

The message? For me, is that to live a fulfilled life is not about the number of friends you made, amount of money you earned or the degree of your success, but the dreams came true and the good deeds done. The audience hoped to see the film on the world’s most prominent festivals and theatres.

Who loves women who every day delights in their sensitivity , intelligence and beauty , this is mandatory should watch this movie . The data he will look at the festive mask with which most women wandering through life .
Using a simple form of narrative captures a special moment , generally deeply concealed for ten gates and curtains , in which every woman , every man must stop playing the role of a learned , to answer a brutal question - what is my life ?
This wise and beautiful film .

It's a moving story about loneliness . Solitude great apparitions concert by acting and the entire team of implementers . About loneliness very well subtly extracted by the great director Marzena Więcek . Good photos, music and sound . All the characters played well ( the well-known and lesser-known Polish actress of all ages ) , played sparingly, fresh , dotykająco . It all has created an image that struck me .
